Public Works

The Public Works Department is dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of life in Driggs by planning for future needs, promoting environmental quality, building and maintaining municipal infrastructure, managing public investments, and protecting health and safety.  The Public Works Department is responsible for the following systems:


  • Transportation System including the maintenance, operations and repairs to city streets, street lights, bike paths, and responds to emergencies and maintains mobility through weather-related events, including snow and ice removal.

Water & Sewer

  • Water & Sewer including operation, maintenance, and emergency response for the water distribution, wastewater collection, storm water collection systems of the city. Also does all water meter reading, maintenance and repair.

Wastewater Treatment Plant

  • The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations are managed to be in compliance with federal and state regulations and with the Clean Water Act.  Public Works is responsible for protection of environmental quality and public health through safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility (WWTF).

Capital Improvements/Active Projects

  • Public Works is responsible for managing the implementation of the Public Works capital improvement projects including the planning, design, permitting, construction and public outreach of CIP projects.


  • Public Works is responsible for the maintenance, improvement and upkeep of the City maintained parks.

  • There is to be no excavation and no new connections to City utilities from November 1st - April 1st (dates are weather dependent and subject to change if necessary).  Please contact staff with any questions.
  • Winter Parking Ban: No on-street parking is allowed between the hours of 12:00 AM and 6:00 AM to allow for safe and efficient snow removal. Please notify any of your guest or tenants.
